Graduated with Distinction from B.I.T. Sindri, Ranchi University, Post graduated from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and did Ph.D from Thapar Institute of Engg. & Technology, Patiala, in the field of Engineering and MBA from Madurai-Kamraj University.
Worked for 12 years (1982-1994) as Scientist in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). From 1994 to 2008, as Assistant Professor & Professor of Chemical Technology at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET), Longowal. Served as Head of the Department of Chemical Technology Deptt & Food Technology Deptt and the Chairman of many other committees at SLIET Longowal.
Served as Professor for 2 years at Altahadi University, Sirte in Libya.
Served as Dean, Member of BOG & Chairman of BOS of Chemical Engg. at PTU, Jalandhar.
Served as Director at the oldest engineering college of Punjab – Guru Nanak Dev Engg. College (GNDEC), Ludhiana (for 10 years). He was instrumental in getting it NAAC accredited (A Grade), NBA accreditation of all courses. He was the key person to get the Autonomous status from UGC to GNDEC, sanction of Rs. 10 Crores by Govt. of India under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-II (TEQIP II), FM Community radio station, starting Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) for Ph.D. similar to IIT’s, One crore from DST (under FIST), Projects from AICTE, and many other developmental activities in the institute (Guru Nanak Dev Engg. College).
He has published more than 50 technical papers in National/International Journals & presented 25 papers in National/International Conferences and guided six Ph.D students. He had been the Principal Investigator of projects granted by various Government agencies. He had visited renowned Universities of USA, Canada, New Zealand, China, UAE, and Libya for various academic purposes.
He is Fellow Member of Institution. of Engineers (India), Life Member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Member of Ludhiana Management Association.
