To celebrate World Tourism Day (observed on 27 September), the Atithi club of Department of HMCT and BTTM organized various competitions on the theme of “ Tourism and Sustainable Transformation ” on 27 September 2025.
Students took part in activities such as cooking competition, cocktail/mocktail, carving competition, rangoli competition, model making competition and also Modeling competition.
Students got valuable experience and learnt new skills, that will benefit them in their future careers .
More then 80 students participated in the various competitions with great zeal and displayed innovative ideas and cooking skills.
It promoted understanding and appreciation of different cultures, traditions, and heritage sites, fostering global citizenship.
It highlighted potential career paths in the tourism industry, such as hospitality, travel, and event management. Students can connect with industry professionals, potentially leading to internships, mentorship, or job opportunities.

The presentations were evaluated on the basis of content, creativity, clarity, and presentation skills.

The competition concluded on a very inspiring note. It provided encouragement and motivation to the students to participate in local tourism initiatives, promoting community development and social responsibility.
