CSE/IT Retains Trophy in GPL 2023-Season -II

On 28th October 2023, the concluding day of Global Premier League 2023-Season-II, ended with thrilling performances with both the bat and the ball by the teams vying for the GPL Championship trophy.

The Two Semi-final matches saw the players putting in their best to win their respective games. The Four Semi- finalists viz. B.Tech. CSE/IT, Deptt. of Management, MCA/BCA and Pharmacy departments displayed their playing acumen and keen concentration on the field to reach the finals and capture the coveted championship trophy.

The final of the GPL 2023 was played between B. Tech. CSE/IT and Deptt of Pharmacy teams and it turned out to be a one sided affair. B.Tech. CSE/IT team batting first scored 96 runs in their allotted overs and set a target of 97 runs for the Pharmacy team. Playing their inning, the Pharmacy team was cheaply out on 39 runs.

Rytham of B. Tech. CSE IT/ was declared the’ Man of the Tournament’ for his all-round performance during the League matches.

Dr. M. S. Saini, Campus Director awarded the GPL trophy to the winning team and medals and certificates to winners and the runner-up team players. He lauded the efforts of the players to make the league a success with their hard work on the field. He appreciated the players cricketing talent and display of healthy sporting spirit during the Premier League. Prof. Vikas Rana, Mr. Dilraj Singh, Sorts Incharge, Coaches, Mentors of the teams alongwith faculty and a large number of students supporting the teams were present to cheer their favourite teams during the finals and award ceremony.
