Dr Katiyani Juneja Sharma, an enthusiastic legal professional, delivered a lecture on ‘Navigating the future: AI Regulation in India’ to the students of Global Institutes School of Legal Studies.
Dr Katiyani discssed in detail India’s regulatory approach on AI and strongly emphasized the need for comprehensive laws to govern AI technologies.
She strongly advocated the need to conduct extensive risk assessment so as to understand risk and benefits of AI. She also recommended that government should form a committee to identify high risk AI applications requiring additional regulations.
The lecture was very informative and the law students actively participated in the interactive session.
Dr Navjot Kaur, Director International Affairs, moved a vote of thanks to the speaker and requested her to hold such sessions in the future also. She also presented a token of honor to Dr Katiyani and conveyed appreciation for sharing her knowledge on such a critical issue in really an engaging and relatable way.
