Global Football League Season-II 2023 began in the football grounds of the Global Group of Institutes on 8th September 2023.

Vice Chairman Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi and Campus Director Dr M. S. Saini released the tournament plaque in the skies amid thunderous applause from the players of the participating teams and a large number of student spectators gathered to back their departmental teams.

A total number of 7-teams representing B. Tech. (CSE) Management, Polytechnic , Pharmacy, BHMCT/ BTTM, B.Tech. ME/MCA/BCA and last Season’s Champion B.Tech. Civil took part in the league matches played today.

In the first semifinal between the reigning champion B.Tech. Civil and ME/MCA/BCA teams, the B.Tech. Civil Engg. defeated their rivals by 4-2 margin to cement their place in the finals. The second semi-final turned out to be a one sided affair with the Pharmacy team trouncing the Management team with a convincing margin of 4-0.

The final match of the league saw action from both the finalists who put in their best to emerge Global Football League Champion of Season-II 2023. In this match both the teams scored 02 goals each in the stipulated time and the match was decided by penalty shootout. The reigning champions B.Tech. Civil Engg. defeated the team of Department of Pharmacy by 3-1 in the penalty shootout to bag the trophy and retain the Championship.

Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi awarded the Championship Trophy to the winners and distributed medals and certificates to the winning team and the Runner Ups.

Dr. M.S. Saini Campus Director and Prof. B.D. Sharma Director (Admissions), Mr. Dilraj Singh Sports Incharge alongwith a large number of students were present during the award giving ceremony.
