Department of Pharmacy organized a visit for the students of 1st year Diploma in Pharmacy to Botanical Garden in Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar on 1st March 2023.
Students got the opportunity to gain vital knowledge regarding various medicinal plants and their uses and also came to know about conservation of various medicinal plants.
The objective of the visit was to show to the students proper methods for managing medicinal plants in a garden and to provide information on plants that could be suitable for any pathological diseases.
Students came to know about the shade room where the medicinal plants were being conserved in required environmental conditions.
The Incharge of the garden explained about different plants species, family and medicinal uses of plants and also answered all the queries of students. The proper propagation method, cultivation and collection method of plants were explained to the students.
All the Students were highly motivated after visiting the medicinal garden as they were encouraged to grow more and more plants near their surroundings.
Students were accompanied by two faculty member of Department (Ms Jasbir Kaur and Ms Amandeep Kaur)
The visit was very beneficial for the students and they decided to develop similar Garden in the campus of Global Institutes.
