The RIT Department successfully organized a guest lecture on 3rd December 2025 on the topic “Breast Imaging and Screening: Advanced Radiology Update.” The lecture was delivered by Dr. Anshul Ghai, Consultant Radiologist, who holds an MBBS from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and an MD in Radiology from BJ Medical College. Dr. Ghai has been working with Fortis Hospital for more than three years, where She has gained extensive experience in advanced diagnostic radiology.
The objective of the lecture was to provide participants with updated and in-depth knowledge about modern breast imaging techniques and the crucial role of radiology in breast cancer screening and early detection.
Dr. Ghai began the session by emphasizing the growing need for awareness and timely screening for breast cancer.She elaborated on various imaging modalities such as digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and digital breast tomosynthesis, explaining their clinical applications, advantages, and limitations. She also discussed current screening guidelines, risk assessment strategies, and the significance of early diagnosis in improving patient outcomes.Dr. Ghai shared real clinical cases from his practice at Fortis Hospital, offering students a practical understanding of diagnostic challenges and decision-making processes in radiology. The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment, during which students clarified their doubts about imaging techniques, reporting standards, and career paths in radiology. Overall, the guest lecture proved highly enriching and broadened the participants’ understanding of modern breast imaging and screening practices.
