Law Students Visit District Consumer Commission, Amritsar
Students from the School of Legal Studies, Global Group of Institutes, undertook a two-day educational visit to the District Consumer Commission, Ranjit Avenue Amritsar on 22nd and 24th April 2025.
This visit was a part of their practical legal training which provided exposure to the students with regard to the functioning of consumer dispute redressal bodies.
The purpose of the visit was to provide students with real-time exposure to consumer disputes resolution mechanisms under the Consumer Protection Act.
The law students
from first and 2nd year classes were accompanied by HOD Dr Gaurav Khanna and other faculty members of the Law Department.
Students gained meaningful knowledge through structured observation and interaction with the officials.
Students had the opportunity to observe live proceedings, understand procedural formalities, and witness the practical application of consumer law in day-to-day matters.
The officials and presiding members of the Commission encouraged the students to actively engage in the legal processes.
Informative sessions and informal discussions allowed students to clarify their doubts regarding jurisdiction, case documentation, filing processes, and the legal reasoning behind judgments.
Dr. Gaurav Khanna HOD, said that “It is essential for budding legal professionals to understand not only the black-letter law but also how justice is administered in real-life scenarios.”
The students found the visit enriching and informative, gaining first-hand experience that would enhance their academic and professional growth.
Global Group of Institutes regularly organises such visits for students of all departments in order to give practical exposure to them.
This visit provided holistic and practice-oriented legal knowledge to the students so that they could become socially responsible legal professionals
