Department of Pharmacy organized an expert talk on the topic of “Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening” on 21-12-22.
Cervical and Breast cancer awareness is an effort to raise the knowledge and reduce the stigma of cancer through education.
The key speaker for the talk was Dr Ruchika, MBBS, MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Fellowship in IVF and Gynaecology Endoscopy,
Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar.
Dr Ruchika shared her knowledge of breast cancer & cervical cancer and elaborated its symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment alongwith screening procedures.
Addressing the students she explained as how a woman can self examine the symptoms by having regular screening with PAP smear test and human papillomavirus (HPV) test to know the early symptoms of cancer that can be treated by medicines.
She explained prophylactic treatments by receiving the HPV vaccines and also explained about Mammography and breast self examination and hygiene factors to prevent Breast and Cervical Cancer.
The lecture provided valuable knowledge and guidance to students and faculty members.
She also answered satisfactorily all queries of the students.
Principal of Pharmacy Department thanked Dr Ruchika for sparing her valuable time for the Global students and staff from her very busy schedule.
