The Tech Talk Club of the department organised the “Mock Parliament” activity on February 17, 2026, in the Seminar Hall. The event was conducted under the guidance of Er. Satinderbir Kaur and Er. Nikhil John and Er Sanjogdeep Singh
The objective of the activity was to familiarise students with parliamentary procedures, legislative debates, public speaking, and policy formulation through a practical simulation. The event structure included agenda setting, opening speeches, moderated and unmoderated caucuses, drafting, and final voting to replicate real parliamentary functioning.
The execution involved designing the committee flow, preparing position paper and speech formats, briefing participants on rules of procedure, and coordinating delegates throughout the event. Smooth transitions between different parliamentary sessions ensured effective participation and discipline.
The activity witnessed enthusiastic involvement from students and enhanced their understanding of democratic processes, critical thinking, negotiation, and structured debate.
The department extends a warm and heartfelt thanks to Er. Tejinderdeep Singh, Head of Department (CSE/IT/AI&ML), for his continuous support and encouragement.
