The Department of Fashion Design organized an industrial visit to Apollo Digitex, a reputed digital printing and textile processing unit, on 23-09-2025. The objective of the visit was to provide the students with practical exposure to advanced techniques of textile printing, dyeing, finishing, and embroidery, which are vital components of their academic curriculum.
During the visit, the students gained valuable insights into:
• Viscose Printing and Dyeing – Understanding the process flow, machinery, in dyeing and printing viscose fabrics.
• Paper Printing Technology – Observing the use of paper printing techniques in creating vibrant designs and the transfer process on fabrics.
• Finishes According to Fibers and Fabrics – Learning about the application of varied finishes such as softening, stiffening, wrinkle-resistant, and special functional finishes tailored to the type of fiber and end use.
• Embroidery Section – Witnessing modern embroidery machines and techniques used to enhance the value of textiles through decorative surface ornamentation.
The students were highly enriched by the live demonstration and interactive session with the technical experts. The visit bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practices, thereby enhancing their understanding of real-world applications in textile and fashion design.
The Department of Fashion Design extends its heartfelt gratitude to the owners and management of Apollo Digitex for their warm hospitality and guidance throughout the visit. Students were overwhelmed for the refreshments arranged for the them, which added to their comfort and overall experience.
