On April 12, 2023, the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities organized an industrial visit to the Multi Skill Development Centre in Amritsar for the first-year B.Tech CSE/IT students.

The students were accompanied by two faculty members, Dr. Anumeet Kaur and Ms. Shiwali Arora.

The main purpose of the visit was to provide practical insights into the industry’s operations by acquainting students with highly skilled professionals from diverse fields.

The Multi Skill Development Centre is affiliated to Sun Foundation, collaborating with the Department of Training and Technical Education of the Government of NCT of Delhi and the Punjab Skill Development Mission to operate world-class skill centers in ITI campuses located in New Delhi and Amritsar.

These centers offer free world-class skill courses catering to both Indian and global needs, supported by the industry.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to interact with the center’s director while departmental heads shared their expertise on various topics such as different programming languages, hardware management, soft skills and skill enhancement, providing hands-on lab experience to the students.

The experts offered comprehensive career guidance and exposure to various industries and their operational protocols and the students actively participated by asking relevant questions, making the session highly engaging.

The visit provided an invaluable opportunity for students to meet industry experts and trainers, learn about security protocols, research and development and gain practical exposure to the latest trends in various industries.
